Housing in Venice
Students may apply to stay at Casa Artom, a beautiful two-story house owned by Wake Forest on the Grand Canal between the Peggy Guggenheim Museum and Ca’ Dario. The 1820s house or “palazzo” was, for a time, the American consulate. The university acquired the house in 1974.
Casa Artom, though not sumptuous, is comfortable and highly livable. Rooms are triples and doubles with shared bathroom, kitchen and laundry facilities. Towels and bed linens are included and changed weekly. Housing cost for the four-week program is $1800.
For students who wish to find their own accommodations, there are numerous one-month rentals in Venice that you can find online. Listed below are some rental agencies. The list is not exhaustive. Students are encouraged to look on their own.
