Planning Your Trip to Vienna

Required Documents & Important Info

Please carefully review the required documents you must submit to the International Graduate Programs office before your trip to Vienna. These documents (Health Questionnaire, International Student ID & Assumption of Risk Form) are due by March.

You must have a valid U.S. passport to travel in Europe.  Make sure you apply early. There are no visa requirements for Austria. More travel information information.

You should verify that your health insurance coverage applies outside the United States.

Traveling to and from Vienna

Vienna is highly accessible either from the United States or from anywhere in Europe.

You are responsible for travel to and from Vienna on schedule. You should begin to plan your flights and itinerary early (in February or March). Students in the summer program often coordinate their travel arrangements. There are direct flights to Vienna as well as flights with minimal connections. It is also very convenient to take public transportation from the airport directly into Vienna for a modest fare. Of course, Vienna is very easy to reach by train as well from anywhere in Europe. It is best to make your arrangements far enough in advance so that you will have a full choice of available travel options.

Vienna Informational Meeting

Every spring semester, the Vienna faculty director holds a meeting for those students planning to attend in Vienna.
